How listings work on Equipment Appraisal Near Me
This page covers our listing methodology: where listings come from, what we verify, and what we don’t.
Where listings come from
Every listing originates from the public member records of recognized equipment appraisal credentialing bodies. We compile the appraiser’s name, firm, location, designation, and source profile URL, and link directly to the source record from every listing so credentials can be verified independently.
Summary sections covering services, industries, and appraisal purposes are generated from publicly available source material and reviewed before publication.
What we don’t collect: reviews, private client information, pricing, or anything behind a login wall.
What credential verification means here
Every listing links out to the credentialing body’s own profile for that appraiser. The Verify link on any listing takes you to the source record. You don’t have to take our word that a designation is real. You can confirm it yourself in one click, every time.
We re-verify on a rolling basis. If a credentialing body removes or changes a record, the link breaks, which is a signal we catch. If you spot a listing where credentials don’t match the source, tell us and we’ll check it within a week.
What we don’t verify
This is as important as what we do.
- We don’t verify the quality of any specific appraisal engagement.
- We don’t verify pricing or turnaround claims made on claimed listings.
- We don’t run background checks beyond what the credentialing body already performed.
- We don’t independently confirm specialty claims beyond what the source material supports.
The point of this directory isn’t to replace your own due diligence. It’s to shorten the list of people you need to do due diligence on in the first place.
Why an equipment appraiser runs this directory
You wouldn’t want an IT guy running a directory of equipment appraisers. You’d want somebody who knows the field, who’s walked the floor, who can tell the difference between an appraiser who can handle a $2M CNC line and one who can’t. This directory is run by people with working experience in equipment appraisal for exactly that reason.
The operators of this site also provide equipment appraisal services. When you submit a quote request, it may be handled by our team directly or referred to an appraiser in the directory, depending on your project and our availability. Two things to know:
- Inclusion and ranking in this directory are not affected by whether an appraiser receives referrals from us.
- If you’d rather contact an appraiser directly, every claimed listing includes direct contact information.
How listings get removed
We remove or flag listings in three cases:
- The credentialing body removes the appraiser from its public directory.
- The appraiser asks us to remove the listing.
- We confirm misconduct or misrepresentation through the credentialing body’s disciplinary records or verified reports.
Appraisers who want a listing removed can contact us. We’ll remove within one business day.
How to report a problem
If information on a listing is wrong, incomplete, or misleading, contact us with the URL and what’s wrong. We read every message.
